VETERANS
We have learned that veterans have incredibly useful skill sets which are highly transferrable to entrepreneurship. Often these skills, such as discipline, leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, self-motivation, etc., are so wired into them that they don’t even realize they have these transferable skills which are highly valuable and applicable in an entrepreneurial setting. Many veterans want to be their own boss and build their own systems and structures into their businesses so that they may be more efficient and effective.
We support veterans, spouses of veterans, and their children in building any kind of business, but in particular, we serve a number of veterans who are interested in farm- and food-related businesses. We help veterans to find land and to get funding for their startup business or for an existing business to expand. We partner with the Farmer Veteran’s Coalition to support veterans who want to farm to be able to learn farming skills and gain farming experience.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, we are able to offer all of our business training programs for FREE to both veterans, the spouses of veterans, and the children of veterans. We primarily serve veterans in these WA counties: Thurston, Lewis, Mason, Clallam, Jefferson, Wahkiakum, and Grays Harbor. Veterans are welcomed into any of our trainings, and we sometimes have all-veteran cohorts for some classes.
